You’ll find Lac Des Arcs between the towns of Canmore and Kananaskis. The small lake is connected to the Bow River and is a popular spot for windsurfing, as well as fishing, and canoeing. Along its shores lies a hamlet of the same name that was developed as a seasonal cottage community in the 1960s. Nowadays, the area offers a number of hiking trails, a playground, and a campground. From the Trans-Canada Highway, on the lake’s southern shore, you can see a small island with nothing but a picnic bench on it.
