The first section of this trail (2 km) climbs the edge of a cool, shaded canyon. Once past the promontory over the creek, the trail drops down to Prairie Creek.
Horse use is not recommended East of Prairie Link due to the narrow trail and unstable, shale-type footing that presents a challenge for horses.
