CONSTRUCTION CLOSURE NOTICE:
The Grassi Lakes trails will be undergoing construction for trail drainage work to mitigate erosion problems. The trails will experience temporary intermittent closures from May 21 to July 31, 2024, or until further notice.
Please check the Alberta Parks website before planning to hike this trail, or call the Kananaskis Information Line at (403) 678-0760. Access to the lakes may still be available via one of the two trails.
This short picturesque trail is great for families and is one of Canmore’s most popular hikes. Choose from the easy route, which takes you up a gentle incline to the spectacular turquoise lake, or the more challenging wooded trail that passes by a waterfall and offers beautiful views of Canmore and Bow Valley. Plan for about one to two hours for this 4 km (2.5 mi) hike.
Roam Transit has launched the new Route 12 service that connects downtown Canmore to Quarry Lake, Canmore Nordic Centre and Grassi Lakes trailhead. This route runs on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Statutory holiday Mondays from May to September. All Canmore local routes are FREE of charge.
