Join artsPlace for the third annual Indigenous Film Night, dedicated to supporting the vital missions of Soul of Miistaki and The Howl Experience in empowering BIPOC individuals through outdoor and land-based activities. This special evening will showcase a selection of Indigenous films, each shining a light on the profound connection between culture and the great outdoors.
Hear from the filmmakers and community youth leaders who will delve deeper into the themes of the films with insights from creators and community leaders. This year we will be joined by Connor Ryan, aka @sacredstoke, a proud Hunkpapa Lakota and passionate skier. Connor was born and raised in the homelands of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute peoples, who have become some of his biggest inspirations and closest relatives, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. He actively seeks to decolonize, reconnect, and learn to better honor all his relations through his adventures and activism.
Don’t miss this chance to celebrate and contribute to a cause that’s making the outdoors accessible and enjoyable for everyone. All proceeds will go to supporting the missions of Soul of Miistaki and Howl.
The event takes place at 7.00 PM.
End time is an estimate.
