Active by Nature leads Nordic walking tours, year-round, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Canmore. Walks are conducted on the town’s recreational trail system, featuring spectacular scenery and opportunities for wildlife viewing. The initial focus on the walk is developing the skills of Nordic walking. Think of it as cross-country skiing without the skis! Nordic walking burns mega-calories compared to just walking while the use of poles also promotes great posture, off-loads stress from hips and knees and provides exceptional stability on all terrain, from city streets to mountain peaks. There is lots of opportunity to explore and learn about this unique mountain town and all the unforgettable experiences it has to offer. Monthly guided hikes to Chester Lake, Grassi Lakes and the High Rockies Trail are offered monthly, year-round.
