Active by Nature leads walking tours and Nordic walking tours, year-round, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Canmore. Walks are conducted on the town’s recreational trail system, featuring spectacular scenery and opportunities for wildlife viewing. The initial focus on the Nordic walks is developing the skills of Nordic walking. Think of it as cross-country skiing without the skis! Nordic walking burns mega-calories compared to just walking while the use of poles also promotes great posture, off-loads stress from hips and knees and provides exceptional stability on all-terrain, from city streets to mountain peaks. On all walking tours, there is lots of opportunity to explore and learn about this unique mountain town and all the unforgettable experiences it has to offer. Private group guided hikes to Chester Lake, Grassi Lakes, the saddle of Ha Ling and the High Rockies Trail are offered by request. Monthly snowshoe tours are also offered during the spectacular and snowy winter season. Due to COVID-19 group size is limited to between one and six people. Nordic walking poles are cleaned after each use. Please see website for further details.
