Rediscovering Our Earth: A Mindfulness Workshop
Sep 29 (5:30pm - 7:30pm)
Join us for a transformative two-hour session designed to deepen your connection with nature and yourself through poetry, yoga, and mindfulness. Rediscovering Our Earth invites you to experience the profound beauty and tranquility of our natural world in a holistic and reflective manner.
Session Overview:
- Welcoming Ritual: We begin with a soothing introduction to ground ourselves and prepare for the journey ahead.
- Poetry: Delve into Joy Harjo’s evocative poem “Remember,” which beautifully weaves themes of nature and the universe, setting the stage for deeper introspection.
- Yoga Practice: Engage in a gentle 25-minute yoga session aimed at aligning your body and mind with the essence of the poem, helping you to be fully present and centered.
- Noticing Practice: Embrace a 30-minute outdoor exploration where you’ll be guided to take a “long, loving look” at your environment. Heighten your awareness of sensory experiences—what you see, hear, smell, and feel—while allowing your observations to flow naturally.
- Journaling and Sharing: Reflect on your sensory journey through journaling, followed by a sharing circle where you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your insights and experiences with fellow participants.
- Closing Ritual: Conclude with a closing ritual that brings closure and integration to your experience, leaving you refreshed and connected.
This session is an opportunity to reconnect with the Earth, explore your inner landscapes, and find a renewed sense of grounding and peace. Join us in celebrating the beauty and serenity of our planet through these enriching practices.
