Presented by MONTAGE I With guest speaker, extreme skier Kristen Ulmer!
Voices of Fear depicts Kristen Ulmer’s relationship with fear during her ascendancy as one of the first female big mountain extreme skiers. Watch this thought-provoking documentary, then join Kristen Ulmer in person for an interactive workshop, followed by Q&A.
Mountain of Laughs! | Sat. Aug. 10 at 7 pm
Flavourful adventure stories, fantastic local films and free-style comedy improv equals a mountain of laughs! This evening features a film by local filmmaker Andy Arts, an episode from the Frick, I Love Nature series, the best stories from Wade Graham’s “How to Win the Night of Lies” storytelling workshop, and hilarious comedy sketches by Mountain Improv Alliance.
Tall Tales with wildlife photographer John E. Marriott | Wed. Aug. 14 at 7 pm
John E. Marriott is one of Canada’s premier professional wildlife and nature photographers, with images published worldwide by National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, Canadian Geographic, McLean’s, and Reader’s Digest. Meet John in a casual atmosphere, hear about his latest adventures, and get tips for your own photography including easy-to-access locations for getting incredible wildlife shots.

Do you have a mountain story to tell? Get some tips on your storytelling from expert fibber Wade Graham! Come prepared with a story to share and polish up your performance to tell your tale at the Mountain of Laughs night!
Climber Clay Pop-Up | FREE, drop-in | Sat. Aug. 10, 6-7pm
Drop by to make art from climbing equipment! Roll out a slab of clay, make an impression of climbing tools such as carabiners, ropes, and cams, and ta da! – you’ve got a piece of art that celebrates your climbing style, made in just 10 minutes!
Drawing Climbers in Motion | Sun. Aug. 11, 10am-4:30pm
Combine your love of climbing with fun and fast-paced figure drawing! This course starts in the studio with a live model, then you’ll take your learning into practice at Elevation Place where you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to sketch fast, furious and free, to capture drawings of climbers in motion.
Climbing Gear Mugs | Tues. Aug. 13, 7-9pm
Make amazing climbing-themed mugs! In this short workshop, you will hand-build a mug, then add a piece of clay climbing gear right onto the side as a handle or a decoration.
