Betty’s Kitchen Cupboard

New Exhibit at the Curbside Museum: Betty’s kitchen was as full as her heart. It held the most interesting and unexpected things: food, of course, but also random knick-knacks like her mother’s Mickey Mouse egg cup, and spools of thread in every colour. You were always surprised by what you’d find peeking in those cupboards. She hid secrets in there, too. Concealed between the stacks of recipes and embroidered linens were old photos of people we never met, and letters with words not meant for us. The kitchen was Betty’s domain, and she filled it with the nourishment of a life well-lived.
